e-cards from Europe

A visit to the Nazi camp

Posted on: April 26, 2009

At the beginning of April all the students from the third classes went to Oswiecim to commemorate those who died there and remember what happened there. The visit was a serious one. No smiles, no joy just attention focused on what was to be seen there. The day was sunny, warm, it smelled spring
But what they saw was not easy to understand and get aware. Father Maksymilian Kolbe, a Polish monk, lived in one of the cells. He gave his life to protect a father of a family, who is still alive.
